Ruby Dickinson, si Seniman Tattoo Termuda di Dunia

Kebanyakan anak2 yang baru berusia 3 tahun akan lebih banyak memilih bermain, akan tetapi lain halnya dengan Ruby Dickinson (3 tahun) yang tergolong masih kecil mempunyai keahlian membuat tattoo.

Selain ayahnya (Dickinson) adalah seorang artis tattoo, tapi mungkin Ruby Dickinson juga sudah ditakdirkan menjadi Seniman tattooo termuda di dunia. Sudah tentu Ruby Dickinson banyak diajari ayahnya, namun jika Ruby Dickinson tidak mempunyai bakat alam tentu kehadiran ayahnya yang seorang artis tattoo juga tidak banyak membantu.

Ayahnya, Dickinson, 36, mengimpor tinta tattooo dari AS yang telah dirancang khusus untuk digunakan oleh tangan anak kecil.

Ruby akan mendapatkan peralatan tattoo mini untuk ulang tahun keempatnya pada bulan Oktober.

Mr Dickinson kepada North Wales Pioneer: "Ruby sangat sadar dia semakin besar, dia tidak bisa menunggu. Dia ingin menjadi seorang seniman tattoo saat ia besar nanti.

"Tujuannya adalah untuk mendapatkan tattoo di kaki saya dengan pesan untuk ulang tahun saya yang ke-40."

Ia belajar dari ayahnya sendiri dan beberapa kali berlatih dengan alat mainan di toko ayahnya. Mr. Dickinson berharap mengalahkan rekor Emilie Darrigade, orang Kanada, yang mentattoo bagian dari lengan ayahnya sebuah kupu-kupu saat ia berusia lima tahun.

Menurut ayahnya, Ruby hampir bisa membuat desain favorit ayahnya, yaitu laba-laba. "Aku tidak habis pikir bahwa dia akan menggunakan Van Gogh, padahal dia hanya 3 tahun," ujar Mr Dickinson kepada The Sun.

Arti dan Makna Tattoo Dayak Kalimantan

Kehadiran tattoo di berbagai bangsa ataupun berbagai suku tertentu mempunyai arti tersendiri. Demikian pula kita mengetahui bahwa masyarakat Dayak di pedalaman tanah air kita seperti di Kalimantan juga mempunyai arti dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat mereka.

Tattoo bagi masyarakat Dayak merupakan bagian dari tradisi, religi, status sosial seseorang dalam masyarakat, serta bisa pula sebagai bentuk penghargaan suku terhadap kemampuan seseorang. Karena itu, Tattoo tidak bisa dibuat sembarangan. Ada aturan-aturan tertentu dalam pembuatan Tattoo atau parung, baik pilihan gambarnya, struktur sosial orang yang diTattoo maupun penempatan Tattoonya. Bahkan yang membuat Tattoo itupun bukan sembarang orang.

Meski demikian, secara religi Tattoo memiliki makna sama dalam masyarakat Dayak, yakni sebagai “obor” dalam perjalanan seseorang dalam menuju alam keabadian, setelah kematian. Karena itu, semakin banyak Tattoo, “obor” akan semakin terang dan jalan menuju alam keabadian semakin lapang. Meski demikian, tetap saja pembuatan Tattoo tidak bisa dibuat sebanyak-banyaknya secara sembarangan, karena harus mematuhi aturan-aturan adat.

Setiap subsuku Dayak memiliki aturan yang berbeda dalam pembuatan Tattoo. Bahkan ada pula subsuku Dayak yang tidak mengenal tradisi Tattoo, seperti masyarakat Dayak Meratus di Kalimantan Selatan (subsuku Dayak manyan). Bagi suku Dayak yang bermukim perbatasan Kalimantan dan Serawak Malaysia, misalnya, Tattoo di sekitar jari tangan menunjukkan orang tersebut suku yang suka menolong seperti ahli pengobatan. Semakin banyak Tattoo di tangannya, menunjukkan orang itu semakin banyak menolong dan semakin ahli dalam pengobatan.

Bagi masyarakat Dayak Kenyah dan Dayak Kayan di Kalimantan Timur, banyaknya Tattoo menggambarkan orang tersebut sudah sering mengembara. Karena biasanya setiap perkampungan Dayak yang mentradisikan Tattoo memiliki jenis motif Tattooo tersendiri bahkan memiliki penempatan Tattoo tersendiri di bagian tubuh mereka yang merupakan ciri khas suku mereka. Sehingga bagi mereka banyaknya Tattoo menandakan pemiliknya sudah mengunjungi banyak kampung. Jangan bayangkan kampung tersebut hanya berjarak beberapa kilometer. Di Kalimantan, jarak antarkampung bisa ratusan bahkan ribuan kilometer dan harus ditempuh menggunakan perahu menyusuri sungai lebih dari satu bulan. Karena itu, penghargaan pada perantau diberikan dalam bentuk Tattoo.

Tattoo bisa pula diberikan kepada bangsawan. Di kalangan masyarakat Dayak Kenyah, motif yang lazim untuk kalangan bangsawan (paren) adalah burung enggang (anggang) yakni burung endemik Kalimantan yang dikeramatkan. Bagi mereka burung enggang merupakan rajanya segala burung yang melambangkan sosok yang gagah perkasa, penuh wibawa, keagungan, dan kejayaan. Sehingga Tattoo motif jenis ini biasanya diperuntukan hanya untuk orang-orang tertentu saja. Adapun bagi Dayak Iban, kepala suku beserta keturunanya diTattoo dengan motif “dunia atas” atau sesuatu yang hidup di angkasa. Selain motifnya terpilih, cara pengerjaan Tattoo untuk kaum bangsawan biasanya lebih halus dan detail dibandingkan Tattoo untuk golongan menengah (panyen).

Bagi subsuku lainnya, pemberian Tattoo dikaitkan dengan tradisi menganyau atau memenggal kepala musuh dalam suatu peperangan. Tradisi ini sudah puluhan tahun tidak dilakukan lagi, namun dulunya semakin banyak mengayau, motif Tattoonya pun semakin khas dan istimewa. Tattoo untuk sang pemberani di medan perang ini, biasanya di tempatkan di pundak kanan. Namun pada subsuku lainnya, ditempatkan di lengan kiri jika keberaniannya “biasa” dan di lengan kanan jika keberanian dan keperkasaannya di medan pertempuran sangat luar biasa.
Pemberian Tattoo yang dikaitkan dengan mengayau ini, dulunya sebagai bentuk penghargaan dan penghormatan suku kepada orang-orang yang perkasa dan banyak berjasa.

Tattoo atau parung atau betik tidak hanya dilakukan bagi kaum laki-laki, tetapi juga kaum perempuan. Untuk laki – laki, Tattoo bisa dibuat di bagian manapun pada tubuhnya, sedangkan pada perempuan biasanya hanya pada kaki dan tangan. Jika pada laki-laki pemberian Tattoo dikaitkan dengan penghargaan atau penghormatan, pada perempuan pembuatan Tattoo lebih bermotif religius.

“Pembuatan Tattoo pada tangan dan kaki dipercaya bisa terhindar dari pengaruh roh -roh jahat atau selalu berada dalam lindungan Yang Maha Kuasa. Pada subsuku tertentu, pembuatan Tattoo juga terkait dengan harga diri perempuan, sehingga dikenal dengan istilah “tedak kayaan”, yang berarti perempuan tidak berTattoo dianggap lebih rendah derajatnya dibanding dengan yang berTattoo. Meski demikian, pandangan seperti ini hanya berlaku disebagian kecil subsuku Dayak.

Pada suku Dayak Kayan, ada tiga macam Tattoo yang biasanya disandang perempuan, antara lain tedak kassa, yakni meliputi seluruh kaki dan dipakai setelah dewasa. Tedak usuu, Tattoo yang dibuat pada seluruh tangan dan tedak hapii. Sementara di suku Dayak Kenyah, pembuatan Tattoo pada perempuan dimulai pada umur 16 tahun atau setelah haid pertama. Untuk pembuatan Tattoo bagi perempuan, dilakukan dengan upacara adat disebuah rumah khusus. Selama pembuatan Tattoo, semua pria tidak boleh keluar rumah. Selain itu seluruh keluarga juga diwajibkan menjalani berbagai pantangan untuk menghindari bencana bagi wanita yang sedang diTattoo maupun keluarganya.

Motif Tattoo bagi perempuan lebih terbatas seperti gambar paku hitam yang berada di sekitar ruas jari disebut song irang atau tunas bambu. Adapun yang melintang dibelakan buku jari disebut ikor. Tattoo di pergelangan tangan bergambar wajah macan disebut silong lejau. Adapula Tattoo yang dibuat di bagian paha. Bagi perempuan Dayak memiliki Tattoo dibagian paha status sosialnya sangat tinggi dan biasanya dilengkapi gelang di bagian bawah betis. Motif Tattoo di bagian paha biasanya juga menyerupai silong lejau. Perbedaanya dengan Tattoo di bagian tangan, ada garis melintang pada betis yang dinamakan nang klinge.

Tattoo sangat jarang ditemukan di bagian lutut. Meski demikian ada juga Tattoo di bagia lutut pada lelaki dan perempuan yang biasanya dibuat pada bagian akhir pembuatan Tattoo dibadan. Tattoo yang dibuat di atas lutut dan melingkar hingga ke betis menyerupai ular, sebenarnya anjing jadi – jadian atau disebut tuang buvong asu.

Baik Tattoo pada lelaki atau perempuan, secara tradisional dibuat menggunakan duri buah jeruk yang panjang dan lambat – laun kemudian menggunakan beberapa buah jarum sekaligus. Yang tidak berubah adalah bahan pembuatan Tattoo yang biasanya menggunakan jelaga dari periuk yang berwarna hitam.
“Karena itu, Tattoo yang dibuat warna-warni, ada hijau kuning dan merah, pastilah bukan Tattoo tradisional yang mengandung makna filosofis yang tinggi.

Tattoo warna-warni yang dibuat kalangan anak-anak muda saat ini hanyalah Tattoo hiasan yang tidak memiliki makna apa-apa. Gambar dan penempatan dilakukan sembarangan dan asal-asalan. Tattoo seperti itu sama sekali tidak memiliki nilai religius dan penghargaan, tetapi cuma sekedar untuk keindahan, dan bahkan ada yang ingin dianggap sebagai jagoan.
